The Workshop
Most of the details on the build are on my hosted plans.
Usage
The workshop at a glance is a man cave. Somewhere I can work on hobbies and projects that make a mess or just somewhere to be my own space.
The main things I want to use the space for is:
- Woodworking
- Playing my PS2 & retro XP PC
- Other DIY projects
Woodworking
The woodworking aspiration has more nuance that I specifically want to do marine related projects/carpentry. This means:
- Working with woods that are marine quality (oaks, teak etc.)
- Working with marine finishes (epoxy, varnish, oils)
- Building marine related items
- boat cabinetry/storage
- ships wheel
- door signs
- drinks cabinet
- cooler box
- table
- handrails
- picture/display frames
- cheese/chopping board
- games/chess board
- doors
- clock and/or barometer
- Floating keyrings
- Boat name plates
- Coasters
- Wine glass holder
- Restoration work (e.g. bronze polishing/repair such as lights/lamps)
The work I do has to be doable in the space I have. While the workshop is a pretty fancy shed it has a 451×327.25cm internal floor space. This means while I can build components I’ll not be building a actual boat in there.
If the things I make can be sold to create a small side business that would be nice, but my initial goals are simply to gain experience in the field.
